I have a big blog post that is almost ready. It needs editing and some pictures as well as the transcription of an excerpt from my journal. I would post it, but we have been roused at 7 am from our beds at a guesthouse in Beynu. We had to haggle for a reasonable price, but with my nearly absent Russian I am unable to do anything about this unreasonable check-out time.
For now, just know that I have been rising through the desert for the past week, battling winds and carrying a lot of water. I am riding with five other cyclists and we are having a good time.
Cody Moir, 22, British. Mystical, loves to dance, very positive, and Full Power.
Freddie Oxland, 23, British, Engineer and avid Leeds fan
Zach Manpearl, 26, L.A. California! Loves to skate, surf, and have fun.
I don’t have many pictures of Alizé Joubert, 24, also from L.A. Very bubbly and positive, she flew out to Baku to ride with Zach- brave girl! (She is on the far left.)
Last but not least, Frederic Dort, 39, the Swiss phenom. He cycles very fast, likes to have fun, and is living a great adventure, he hasn’t worked on the books since 2012. Good man.

We are almost at the border of Uzbekistan, and my visa is expiring in a coupke weeks. I am planning a mad dash in order to avoid having to take a train! The Pamirs loom, and they are getting colder every week, so we are all anxious to get through them before Autumn really sets in. Gotta go for now, sorry I don’t have more for ya!
